Psychosocial hazards are treated the same as any physical risk on your site — and regulators are enforcing it. We help you build a practical, documented process that protects people and meets your legal duties.

THE REQUIREMENT

A legal duty, not a wellbeing extra.

Under Western Australia’s Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022, PCBUs have a duty to identify, assess and control psychosocial hazards using the same structured, documented approach required for any other workplace risk.

Excessive workload, poor role clarity, bullying, harassment, remote or isolated work, and exposure to traumatic events all require considered controls. An Employee Assistance Program or a policy sitting in a drawer is not enough on its own.

WHAT REGULATORS EXPECT

A real process to identify workplace-specific hazards, assess risk, apply controls using the hierarchy of controls, and review regularly.

WHAT EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT LOOKS LIKE

The same rigour you apply to physical risk.

The same rigour you apply to physical risk.

01 / IDENTIFY

Identify the psychosocial hazards specific to your people, sites, teams and work patterns.

02 / ASSESS

Assess the risk through meaningful consultation with your workforce, not assumptions from a desk.

03 / CONTROL

Apply practical controls using the hierarchy of controls, shaped around how your business actually operates.

04 / REVIEW

Review the controls regularly and use evidence to confirm they are working in practice.
